Gena Ellett’s writing has appeared in publications across North America. In 2018, she was selected by the RBC Charles Taylor Prize as a top Canadian emerging non-fiction writer. She was longlisted for the 2018 CBC Short Story Fiction Contest, awarded the 2018 Charles Lillard Founders’ Award for Nonfiction, and was nominated for a 2016 National Magazine Award in the category of Personal Journalism. She completed an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia in 2017.
Originally from the Sunshine Coast, Gena lives and writes in Vancouver, British Columbia, with her dog Lulu Belle.
